Music Together of Chester Policies, Protocols, Waiver/Release

Please read all of this information prior to registration.  Submission of your registration will constitute agreement everything on this page.  Questions?  Please contact Cynthia Dreeman Meyer, Center Director: cjdreeman@gmail.com; 973-219-2181.

Illnesses/Risks, Visitors, Waiver & Release

Our policies are informed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Department of Health and are subject to change.  An inherent risk of exposure to disease, including COVID-19 (all variants), exists in any public place where people are present; such contagious disease(s) can lead to severe illness and death.  By attending class(es) in person you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19 and any/all other diseases.  Our teachers have the right to send a family home at their discretion per this policy.

Vaccinations/Masks/Instruments

  • All adults accompanying an enrolled child must be vaccinated for COVID-19.

  • Please bring your own blanket/mat(s).

  • We will pre-mark spots for each family to establish distance (but are unable to guarantee precise distances).

  • MASKS: For adults and children 2 and over, you may choose to wear a mask during class.

  • Children naturally wander and forcing them to stay put can be challenging.  However, to limit face-to-face contact between persons of different households please redirect your child(ren) as necessary.

  • We provide a number of musical props during class, which brings people together while getting/putting away instruments. If you prefer to avoid close proximity with members of other families in the class, you are welcome to bring your own instruments and props from home rather than use those provided by Music Together of Chester.

  • Please do NOT bring additional persons to class (adults and/or children) unless you have advance permission from the Center Director.  Again, unvaccinated persons 12 and older should not attend class.

Illness and Makeup Policy

  • If you and/or anyone in your household has any symptoms of COVID (fever, cough, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, new loss of smell or taste) or any other disease, or has had close contact with others in the last 2 weeks who have, or suspect that they may have COVID-19 or another disease, please stay home and advise the Center Director.

  • If your child(ren) and/or the person accompanying your child(ren) to class has had a fever, said persons must be fever-free for at least 24 hours (without assistance of fever-reducing medication) before returning to class.

  • If someone in your household tests positive for COVID-19 or is exposed to someone who has tested positive, please let us know right away.  We will follow the contact tracing protocol set by the Morris County Department of Health, which includes notifying families in the same class of the possible exposure, and quarantine as needed.  Names will not be disclosed.

Make-up classes will be available either in person (if available on a first-come-first-served basis), or online (via Zoom or recorded).

Class Cancelation Policy

  • Classes may be canceled due to inclement weather.

  • In the event of inclement weather, please call 973-219-2181 after 7:00AM on the day of class, and a pre-recorded message will advise whether class will be held that day.  If class is canceled, we will provide a make-up class at a later date, either in person or online (via Zoom or pre-recorded).

  • Refunds/credits will not be given for canceled or missed classes.

Music Together of Chester (MTC) has put in place these policies and protocols to reduce the spread of COVID-19 and other disease(s).  However, MTC cannot guarantee that its students, staff members, or others in attendance will not become infected with COVID-19.  If you choose to utilize MTC’s classes/services and/or enter onto our premises you may be exposed to and/or increase the risk of injury and/or of contracting or spreading COVID-19 and/or other disease(s).

ASSUMPTION OF THE RISK: As an MTC participant I acknowledge and assume all risks and dangers associated with my participation and/or attendance and that of the child(ren) I am accompanying. I agree that: (a) MTC, its officers, directors, employees and/or assigns; Music Together Worldwide; and/or the property or site owner (collectively the “Released Parties”), will not be responsible for any personal injury (including death), property damage, or other loss suffered as a result of participation in and attendance at MTC or an MTC sponsored event regardless if any such injuries or losses are caused by the negligence of any of the Released Parties. I knowingly choose to accept the risk of injury/illness for myself and/or my child(ren)/other household participant(s) in order to utilize MTC’s services.

RELEASE/WAIVER OF LAWSUIT/LIABILITY: I hereby forever release and waive my right to bring suit against MTC and its owners, officers, directors, managers, officials, trustees, agents, employees, or other representatives. I understand that this waiver means I give up my right to bring any claims either in law or in equity, to the fullest extent permissible by law, including but not limited to damages or losses caused by the negligence, fault, or conduct of any kind of part of the released parties, including but not limited to personal injuries, death, bodily injury, illness, economic loss, out of pocket expenses, or loss/damage to property whether known or unknown, foreseen or unforeseen, which I, my heirs, assignees, next of kin and/or legally appointed or designated representatives, may have or may afterward accrue on my behalf, which arise or may afterward arise from my participation with in-person classes or events at/or sponsored by MTC. Invalidation of any part of this does not invalidate the remaining parts.

Music Together Refunds and Credits

Full payment, including a nonrefundable registration fee, is due at the time of registration. You will receive a full tuition refund if you request to drop out of class before the registration deadline (typically the first day of classes).

No tuition refunds are given for class withdrawals after the registration deadline. If you withdraw after the deadline, but before your first class, you will be issued a credit towards tuition for a future semester. After your first class, pro-rated credits may be issued upon review of individual circumstances.

We understand that sometimes unexpected things happen. However, please note that non-attendance does not constitute a withdrawal from class. We are not able to offer tuition refunds unless we are informed of your intent to withdraw prior to the registration deadline.
